Flamboyant. Piquant. And slightly fruity.
1 1/2 oz. light rum
1 1/2 oz. Triple Sec
Juice of 1/2 a lime
1 Maraschino cherry
1/4 tsp. (roughly) Maraschino cherry juice
Squeeze
the lime into a shaker, then add the rum, Triple Sec, and ice.
Shake until cold. (That is, until the drink is cold. You can be
any temperature.)
Put a Maraschino cherry in an aperatif glass, plus a tiny bit of
the juice from the cherry jar (for color). Pour in the chilled
drink.
