Crust
2 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. nut meats
Beat the egg whites until they are stiff. While doing this,
gradually add the remaining ingredients. Then spread the "batter"
into a well-greased 9" pie plate and shape it into a crust as best
you can.
Bake the crust at 275 degrees for one hour, then cool it.
Filling
1 pkg. (3/4 c.) chocolate chips
3 tblsp. hot water
1/2 pint heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Melt the chocolate chips with the hot water in the top of a double
boiler. (You'd have to be a pretty great fool to melt it in the
bottom.)
While the chocolate mixture cools, whip the cream.
Finally, add the vanilla to the chocolate, then fold in the cream.
Fill the pie shell and chill the pie.
