1 head cabbage

Meat Mixture:
3 lbs. ground meat
1/2 c. ice water
1 egg
1 1/2 c. cooked rice
salt & pepper
garlic

Sauce:
1 large can tomato puree
1 can tomato sauce
3/4 c. brown sugar
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 tsp. salt
small box of raisins


Cut the core out of the cabbage. Put the head (the cabbage's, not yours) in boiling water for about 15 minutes until the leaves separate easily.

Peel off large cabbage leaves and roll a tablespoon or so of meat mixture in each.

Mix the sauce ingredients and pour over the cabbage leaves. Cover the pan and bake in a 300 degree oven for about 2 1/2 hours...then remove the cover and bake 1/2 hour more (to brown).
